# Copilot Showing Markup Language or Citations

> Turn off citation markup that appears in notes generated through Copilot.

If notes generated through Copilot show markup language or citation formatting you don't want, this is caused by the **Citations** feature being turned on.

1. Open **My Account** from the navigation menu.
2. Select **Note Settings**.
3. Switch **Citations** to off.

This removes the citation markup from your notes going forward.

  Turning off Citations also frees up space for note generation — helpful if you've noticed the end of longer notes [getting cut off](/troubleshooting/common-issues).
