# Starting a Recording

> Learn how to start a patient recording with Commure Scribe.

With Commure Scribe, starting a recording is straightforward and efficient. Follow these steps:

## 1. Select the Patient

* Navigate to the **Record** tab.
* Add a patient name (optional).
* Select a note template.

## 2. Start the Recording

* Tap the **Start Recording** button to begin.
* Ensure your microphone is enabled and properly positioned for optimal audio capture.

## 3. End the Recording

* When the session is complete, tap **End Recording**.
* Commure Scribe will automatically process the audio into a structured note.
